CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT

Zone of Privacy Art Competition

STUDENTS IN CONSTITUTIONAL LAW (SECTION 3) ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT DRAWINGS THAT REPRESENT THE ZONE OF PRIVACY AS DESCRIBED BY JUSTICE DOUGLAS IN HIS OPINION IN GRISWOLD V. CONNECTICUT: “SPECIFIC GUARANTEES IN THE BILL OF RIGHTS HAVE PENUMBRAS, FORMED BY EMANATIONS FROM THOSE GUARANTEES THAT HELP GIVE THEM LIFE AND SUBSTANCE.  VARIOUS GUARANTEES CREATE ZONES OF PRIVACY.”

DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 2 AT 6 P.M.  ENTRIES SHOULD BE GIVEN TO PROFESSOR HARPAZ, PLACED IN HER MAILBOX IN ROOM 307 OR SLIPPED UNDER HER OFFICE DOOR (ROOM 317).  ALL ENTRIES SHOULD INCLUDE THE NAME OF THE CONTESTANT.

JUDGING:  THE CONTEST WILL BE JUDGED BY PROFESSOR HARPAZ AND A WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON THURSDAY NOVEMBER 3 DURING SECTION 3'S 6 P.M. CONSTITUTIONAL LAW CLASS. PROFESSOR HARPAZ, THE CONTEST SPONSOR, RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE CONTEST IF FEWER THAN 3 STUDENTS SUBMIT DRAWINGS RELEVANT TO THE CONTEST THEME.

PRIZE:  THE PRIZE (OF NOMINAL VALUE) WILL BE SELECTED BY PROFESSOR HARPAZ IN HER SOLE DISCRETION AND WILL BY HANDED OUT AT THE TIME THE CONTEST WINNER IS ANNOUNCED.
